Like so many others, I found myself confined to my apartment with little to do during pandemic lockdown. To stay connected with family and friends, I picked up my iPhone and started capturing photos and videos. To my surprise, I loved every second of it.
Curiosity — and the limits of my phone — eventually led me to invest in my first Canon camera in May 2024. That was the spark.
But my journey truly deepened later that year. On December 1st, my mom fell seriously ill. For over seven months, I spent countless hours with her in ERs and hospitals. During that time, I came face to face with the fear of losing her. More than anything, I regretted not having taken enough photos together — the kind of portraits you can treasure, print, and see on your wall every day.
That realization changed everything for me. It made me wonder how many others, like me, might be missing out on preserving their most meaningful moments. Because what could be more valuable than art that reminds you of the people you love most?
